WHY EXPLORE PAST LIVES?

Perhaps you have thoughts or fears that seem out of context in your life. You may feel depressed, have anxiety attacks or feel sad and don't know why. Or you might suffer from chronic pain, or have obsessive thoughts or experience issues of unworthiness or guilt.

Attempts to heal these thoughts by looking only at remembered events in this lifetime may feel limiting and frustrating. Childhood wounds don't always account for how awful we feel. Although parents or schoolmates may have been uncaring or cruel, the source of this pain often originates in a previous life story. By accessing other lifetimes, we can get to the root of our problems, heal them at their source and integrate new understandings into the present.

Dr. Sigmund Freud, the "father of psychology" once said, "We are the sum total of all we ever have been." If this is true, past-life experiences must be taken into account when attempting to understand the workings of the human psyche. In short, regressions are one more way of knowing ourselves more completely.

For me, Past-life Therapy is one of the most remarkable methods of healing. By reviewing our past lives, we can often uncover the source of long-standing emotional blocks and physical pains that are preventing us from expressing our talents and abilities, fulfilling our desires and achieving our goals.

MY APPROACH TO PAST-LIFE THERAPY

I practice the therapeutic approach pioneered by Jungian analyst Roger Woolger, PhD, whose book, Other Lives, Other Selves, is considered to be a definitive work in past-life therapy.

We can quickly learn the cause of your present-life problems. Then by releasing the deeply held emotions and the unfinished feelings associated with that past-life story, you can at last come to closure. This creates a domino effect that has an immediate impact on releasing that initial trauma — allowing you to heal.

This is the only past-life regression therapy that heals the mind, body, emotions and spirit simultaneously. The healing is multidimensional, unique and deep.

Many of my clients have already tried other therapies, which either did not work or did not offer a lasting remedy for their suffering. In fact, some have undergone years of conventional therapy, where they explored every childhood trauma imaginable in an attempt to heal. Yet they continued to suffer.

I have found that Past-Life Therapy can be the best and fastest way to create a lasting healing.

TAKE A LOOK AT "MANY LIVES, MANY MASTERS"

One of the most instructive accounts of past-life therapy can be found in Dr. Brian L. Weiss' Many Lives, Many Masters. Oprah Winfrey was so impressed that she invited him to appear twice on her television show last spring to talk about past-life regression.

Dr. Weiss is a Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude graduate of Columbia University, who received his medical degree from Yale and is now Chairman Emeritus of Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami.

He is a physician and scientist who has published more than 40 papers in professional journals.

Dr. Weiss once described himself as a "left-brained, obsessive-compulsive, and completely skeptical of 'unscientific' fields such as parapsychology." But then he met "Catherine."

In Many Lives, Many Masters, he tells the story of "Catherine" who came to him suffering from fears, phobias, paralyzing panic attacks, depression and recurrent nightmares. Her symptoms had been life long and were worsening.

For 18 months, Dr. Weiss used conventional therapy. As he wrote, "There was nothing in her basic makeup to suggest that her case would be a difficult one. Indeed, her background suggested a good prognosis." Yet, she remained severely impaired.

As a last resort, Dr. Weiss recommended hypnosis. While she was in trance, he inadvertently said, "Go back to the time from which your symptoms arise."
Nothing prepared him for what happened next. Catherine slipped into an ancient near-Eastern lifetime that took place almost 4,000 years ago. Dr. Weiss was astounded as she described herself, her surroundings and other people from that lifetime in great detail.

During this and subsequent sessions, Catherine explored 12 lifetimes that seemed to be the root causes of her problems. Meanwhile, Catherine's symptoms began to improve dramatically.

In fact, she completely recovered in just three and one half months!

As Dr. Weiss reported, "Not only have Catherine's symptoms virtually disappeared, but she had progressed beyond merely being cured. She was radiant, with a peaceful energy around her."

Considering the number and intensity of her neuroses, Dr. Weiss estimated that normal psychotherapy would have required years before she was cured.

"After my experience with Catherine, my perspective on psycho-therapy began to change radically," Dr. Weiss wrote. "I realized that Past-Life Therapy offered a rapid method of treating psychiatric symptoms, symptoms that had previously taken many months or years of costly therapy to alleviate. Here was a much more direct way to heal pain and fear."

I encourage you to read Many Lives, Many Masters. (The paperback book is available in most bookstores and many libraries.) You'll find it gives an excellent overview of the possibilities offered by Past-Life Therapy.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can't these so-called "past lives" really be just metaphors?
Absolutely. A belief in past lives is not necessary for a session to be successful.

All we really know for sure is that each of us carries within us stories that have the power to help us heal. These stories or archetypal dramas appear to arise spontaneously from the unconscious mind, and may or may not be our past-life memories. In this work, "past lives" can be treated as metaphors that often seem to mirror our present day conflicts. When explored, they often contain a key that can heal buried emotions and release entrenched physical patterns.

Is having a past-life reading the same as having a past-life regression?
A psychic may be able to tell you all about your past lives, but that isn't the same as you experiencing them yourself. When you relive your former lives as a first-person experience, you can come to closure with the issues from that life that are causing problems in your current life. A significant healing often occurs during our session.

How many sessions are necessary?
This is short-term therapy. A specific issue or life-long pattern can often be worked through in one or two sessions. It is essential, however, that each layer of the trauma — physical, as well as mental, emotional and spiritual — be transformed and integrated for complete healing to occur.

RECENT TESTIMONIAL

Hi Peter,

Thanks so much for your follow up, and for our session.

I feel calm. I feel less of a desperate edge, if you want to call it that. I never felt desperate about men, per se, but found that their attention mattered to me. Now I am not even thinking about it. It's almost as if I feel resolved and calm. I'm sure that all is well or something.

Also, I feel the calm of understanding. The work and images have settled in, and they feel more believable, not like they are just strange pictures in my head. I have been thinking: "No wonder I have felt guilty and non-committal about love. I killed my only love (in that past life story)."

Recognizing those feelings, and aligning them, has been freeing. I feel like all is well and will work out fine. Knowing that my love is there for me, I have less fear in interacting with people, flirting even.

Thank you for our memorable work together.

Kathy
